2020 \u2013 A historic year for real estate in Quebec!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Quebec hit new real estate records in 2020, with a total of 121,213, transactions. That\u2019s a growth of over 18% versus 2019.<\/p>\n

How did Outremont fare? It accounted for 179 of these transactions. That\u2019s on par with the 180 transactions for 2019, which was already a record year for our beautiful borough.<\/p>\n

Where are all these property sales coming from?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Despite the COVID lockdown and the notable drop in GDP, the pandemic has been a boom to the province\u2019s real estate industry and Quebec homes have been selling like hotcakes.<\/p>\n

One of the key factors positively affecting real estate was the shift in monthly family expenses. With vacation budgets having nowhere to go, sales of second homes have skyrocketed \u2013 particularly in Estrie and the Laurentians.<\/p>\n

Another notable factor that made 2020 such a big year for real estate was the growing desire for larger properties. The current mantra of buyers can be easily summed up as: \u201cI want something bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n
